If you're new to this sort of thing you might want to stay away from Deere at first anyway. They have their advantages but most women tractor drivers I've met along the way have seemed more comfortable on a utility type, along the lines of 2N/9N. My wife is comfortable enough driving our MH50, but she won't get on a Farmall or Deere tricycle. If you can swing it, a Massey 35 gas would be noticeably ahead of what you've mentioned. Whatever you do, be sure you know where the nearest dealer is, because you will want parts and service someday. Slipping a reputable and disinterested tractor wrencher a couple 20's to help you make your final choice wouldn't be bad idea either. I had been away from all this for a good 10 or 15 years when I bought ours, and there were a few things I wish somebody would have nudged me about.
