Abrupt stopping can be a number of things.. electrical are the first that comes to mind. 2nd is fuel.. 3rd is bad...like.. no oil pressure and the engine seizes.

You don't give -ANY- info to go on here.. like.. does the engine crank over?

Have you checkd for gas a tthe bottom of the carb bowl drain?

Spark at the plug?

Could be a 5 minute problem.. or 5 hour problem.. post back with some info to help us help you.
