You are not making a fair comparison... The 9400 JD is rated at 425 horsepower engine and 371 drawbar horsepower, while the 1155 Versatile is rated 470 engine horsepower and 400 horsepower on the drawbar. Don't compare apples to oranges and then come and complain when the oranges taste like a citrus fruit! I've been an IH guy my entire life and we recently purchased an 8630 to pull the air seeder... I'm ready to trade everything in on a JD with a quad range transmission!

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
