I just hauled a tractor 500 miles last Friday. I was using a '97 Dodge 5.9 Cummins. My trailer weighs 5600 lbs. and the tractor was probably 8000 lbs. more. I checked the mileage at each fill up. Pulling the trailer alone, I got 16.9 mpg. With the tractor on the trailer, I got 13.2 mpg. The trip was from the Detroit Mi. area to West Central Illinois. I ran 70 to 72 miles per hour on the Interstates. The truck alone usually gets 20 to 21 mpg. As far as power, it's always been able to do whatever I have asked of it. Hope this helps.
