Doug. Go for it, some folks just don't understand the joy of building something. A couple of years ago we got the joy of building up a tractor. Started with a real good engine from a 400 IHC( the rest of tractor was junk) found a W6 rear end and main frame. Took a steering axle from an 815 combine put under the front (power steering) changed the rear axle housing using the ones from the 400. The front axel from a Plymouth K care serves as the drive shaft from the crankshaft for live hydralics. Put some M IHC gears in tranny to get the speed back down. Now we have a modern tractor from the junk pile. I tell everbody it is the ultimate tractor IHC forgot to build. Good luck.
