Greetings: I am curious as to the attachments/implements others have built to increase the functionality of their tractors. I bought a 1940 Farmall A (crank start, no hydraulics, no three point hitch, no live PTO) mainly to plow snow on our driveway. The snow blade that came with it was home made. I have been increasing its functionality in various ways. This winter I get to test the changes out. I have thought of other changes/implements I can make to extend the functionality of my big toy (which I think describes the real nature of our tractor purchases for most non farmers; can we really justify spending hundreds to thousands of dollars on an object that often does not pay for itself unless we call it a hobby/toy?). On my idea list are tilting wagon/cart, manual three point hitch for low weight implements, small front end bucket for moving small amounts of dirt, box blade, mounting a water pump off the PTO, etc., etc. You get the idea. I like to build things. There are many creative and skilled people on this board. I would be interested to hear what neat things people have built to perform various jobs with their tractors. Thanks for listening. Douglas Stockman Rochester, NY
