You might have somebody that's competent and disinterested check what you're looking at. Sounds like it would do what you want. A Massey 35 or 50 would also work. A Ford 2N/9N/8N would probably do it too, but even that TO-35 will seem like a step up by comparison. Figure out where you would get parts and advice. And there is definitely a reason why they paint John Deere stuff green. It's so when you fork out the extra bread for the cachet of ownership, the reflection doesn't startle you.
