I am very ignorant to the subject of tractors. Here is what I know: I have about 1.5 acre to mow with many trees but about 3/4 are clear, I wish to have a fairly large garden, I have a private road to maintain, I want a tractor and I have about $2500. For this price I understand it will probably need work so a ready supply of spare parts is a big plus. (I have a father-in-law who knows a bunch and can repair/rebuild it... but I don't want to let him know I am as ignorant as I am... silly pride and all!) Here is what I have told: get a small/low profile tractor (not the garden variety), 35-40 hp, live pto and a standard 3pt hitch. Here is what I have seen... a MF TO35, seems to fit the bill, for $2000 but I am a little suspicious, something about the seller/situation/tractor does not "feel" right. What other tractors might fit these requirements?
