I shoot for a final stand of around 180k, plant at about 200k with a germination of 90%. Sandy soils here. Average seed count was 2700/lb. Did have 200 bags at 2500/lb. So 1000 bags at 50 lbs gives us 50,000 lbs with 2700 seeds/lb or 135,000,000 total seeds. Divide that by 680 acres and you get 198.5k seeds per acre. 198.5k at 90% will yield a final stand of about 178.5k. 10 inch rows with a no-till drill. Used to use a 15' drill on 7.5" spacings but I like the 10" better and the 20' will polish off a few extra acres each day.
