Wind or no wind if you rake it a worel wind will go across the field before you can bale it. How do you like that old 495 by now, I always pulled mine in low 4 with my 756 D and I could lay down 27 acres in 4 hrs. Raked with a left and right took 2 hrs pulling them with my 460D at 900 rpm"s in 4th. 460 would use a whole 1/2 gal an hr raking.
