#1. The smoke probably clears up when the engine warms up does'nt it? On these Perkins this is pretty common. It takes a while for the engine to warm up and start hitting right this time of year. With the cooler air temp and the cooler fuel temp make it seem to take forever.. #2. The crankshaft usually slings oil out the stick hole if the stick is out when running. If you are like I am, you could just be having over caution on the tractor. That is probably the best engine made in my opinion. Parts are readily available and they are simple to work on. Parts are not over priced and they last almost forever. I think you will be very happy with your tractor when you get used to it.
