My First diesel tractor(question)

Got a 1968 3cyl diesel MF tractor.When you pull out the motor oil dip stick you can see small amounts of air puffing out with few drops of oil mixed in with air.Also tractor smokes with a lite whitishblue smoke.Exuhast does't smell if oil is being burned but has a stronger diesel smell.Does this sound like a blowby in the engine or is this common in some diesel engines. I don't know that much about diesel engines. Thank you
