I know you will enjoy your diesel. I have gotten many years of service out of diesels with very little problem. Service the tractor and change ALL the filters following a good maintenance schedule. The most beneficial thing that you can do is to buy good clean fuel and keep it clean and free of water. Be careful not to introduce dirt into the tank from dirty nozzles, cans, and filler cap areas. After you work the engine hard let it idle for a few minutes so the temperature can normalize and not have a lot of heat soak left in the engine before shutting the engine off. IMHO this minimizes a lot of head gasket problems. As with any engine never let it run hot. When brush hogging it is easy to get the radiator covered with trash and the tractor will heat up if you do not occasionally remove the trash. Good luck and good tractoring.
