Theory behind snow plowing with turf tires?

I have a 5000# IH504 with turf tires that I use for mowing.

I've noticed that alot of construction equipment has smoother style industrial tires and actually uses it's weight for traction.

if I put a total weight of 5000-6000# on the rear tires only with no chains, do you think that is enough weight to create significant traction in wet NY state snow?

Grateful for thoughts.

PS. No differential lock.
