Ford 600 overhaul help 38 loader cylinder

I recently purchased a 600 Ford with a loader.
The engine needs an overhaul, it uses oil and
runs rough. I've never overhauled an engine before
but would like to try it. I would like to get all
the advice I can get.I'm looking for video's, books
manuals and some straight advice. I'm not a genius
but I've got some book learnin' and Know left from
right.
I would also like to get some sources for a kit.
Does the tractor need to be split to do it right?
What are some pitfalls or little secrets that
could save me some headaches?
Also I need a 38"(bore) Hyd. cylinder with a
1 1/4" shaft. thanks
