new formulation gas has a lower vapor point because newer cars have fuel pumps that run in the 7-14 psi range, and older carburated vehicles ran at 3-5 psi when fed by a mechanical pump.now on gravity feed systems you can have some problems , especialy if the tank is over the engine like on your fergison. I would recomend fabbing a heat shield under the tank , and around the exaust if yours vents to the top, instead of under the tractor . an air gap between the tank and shield of 1/2 " should be good.My old VW beetle had problems with "Vapor Lock " in the fuel pump shortly after these new formulations came out in the late '80's ...always carried some water in the summer and rags to soak the fuel pump with on a hot day. cooled it down a little and it would start back up , and I was good to go, unless I got stuck in traffic. Good luck Shawn
