You should seriously consider switching to 12 volt unless you"re adamant about keeping it original. To get the most out of the 8 volt battery will take some adjustment on your generator to keep it fully charged. Also your lights have 6 volt bulbs in them. I recently redid my 77 as stock with 6 volt. If I had to do it over I would have switched to 12 volt. My 2 cents worth.
