The squeal is most likely one of the relief valves by passing. if you have a lot of metal shavings then the pump must be going because that it the only place it can come from. I would pull the pump and go though it them completely flush the entire system to get rid of the water and shavings. I know it sounds like a lot of work but it will save you a lot of trouble later on.
