Oil turns black due to carbon. Carbon is what needs to be filtered out of the engine oil. Oil doesn't wear out. The additive package in the oil does. The synthetic oils molecules are changed so that they are more round, without as many rough edges. This does not prevent carbon, what wears out the engine, or suspended sandpaper. Point is, the engine oil, no matter the manufacturer will still get dirty and need to be changed based on the fact that the filtration process for the oil will not filter out all the wear particles (carbon) from the engine. If I ran a bypass filtering system with media that is finer than what is in the standard filter, and raised the amount of oil in the system from 4.5 to 7 qts, I could see this working. Thing is, at 6,000 miles the current filter could be full, and start bypassing, not filtering oil and pumping the carbon oil through the engine.
