You do get a better bite on the stump with the chain up higher-it's called leverage. It's also the reason both our old tractors have wheelie bars/traction pads whichever you want to call them. they have to be strong enough, the height from the ground depends on what size tires you run. THEY NEVER should be part of the hitch/bar assembly. They break the traction on rear tires when front comes up. Also important to have any loose weights(esp.front) TIED DOWN God bless & B safe.
