With regards to the 'newer' types of lubricants which are used for both the transmission/differential/hydraulics on many tractors, can this stuff be used on older tractors (eg. 40's and 50's) in order to make them more useable at bone-chilling temperatures? I am assuming of course that these new oils have a more workable viscosity than stuff like 80W90 which I am now using (but is terrible at 35 below). I would guess that since it is used in the hydraulic system, it must be a 'thinner' oil. Let me know if you can help. Thanks.
