I've posted this on other truck and trailer forums without any luck so I thought I'd ask here. I have a 07 2500HD with the built-in electric brake controller. When I connect the CM Drover GN horse trailer the truck does not recognize the trailer is there unless it is running when I plug the the trailer in. All the lights work on the trailer but not the brakes until you unplug the trailer and plug it back up. The trailer has a 6way and I have a 6w/7w adapter to fit the truck. If you cut the truck off and restart it , the truck goes back to not recognizing the trailer is connected. Then I have to unplug the trailer and plug it back up to get the trailer brakes to work. Anybody else have this problem?
Its just strange everything works once you start the truck and unplug and plug it back up. I have not had a chance to try a different trailer with this truck

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
