i dont know specifically about 555 but other bobcat skeed steers are hydrostatic and have no clutches,
there are fixed displacement motor for eacgh side and variable twin pumps coupled to the engine.
there is linkage between the sticks and the pumps.sometimes exesive wear and play at the linkage does not provide full movement of pump controls.
in order to gai access to the likage the operator enclosure must be tilted. (usually tow bolts at the sides and a wiring connector).
