This past saturday I invited my parents out to come ride in the field with my brother and I. (We work for the same farm) Me in the combine and brother Mike in the tractor/grain cart. Dad got in the combine with me first and a few minutes in he said "I wish your grandpa could see you two." Grandpa died over a year ago. We weren't really close, so I wasn't too broken up over it, but hearing him say that made me feel...different. Grandpa used to farm a long time ago, but sold out. My dad's brother still has the sale bill framed up and it makes me wish I could've been there for that. Some might call it closure I suppose, but my dad saying that about him really brought it to front and center that he can't be there watching, but he would've loved to see it. I know he's upstairs looking down, but it's not quite the same as it would be having him in the cab. The more I think about it when I'm typing, the more I need to involve my uncle on my mom's side. He lives on the east coast, so it's tough, but he's a retired farmer, too. It's amazing what one little sentence can do to a person. I know this doesn't have a lot of relevance to the forum, and it's kinda mushy, but I needed to get it off my chest and you folks understand. Thanks for reading.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
