From Corpus Christi, TX to the Naval base outside of Ingleside, about 60 miles or so one way. Did that for a few months before getting out. The next long drive was 45 miles each morning, in traffic, to park my pickup and get my service truck. Then it was another 30 or so miles back to the plant I normally worked out of or where ever I was needed first that day. Then it was drive around most of the day between plants, as needed, and repeat the process at the end of the day to swap trucks, again all in rush hour traffic. Did that til I convinced them it would be alot smarter to let me park the service truck at their truck shop which was 20 plus miles closer to home as well as alot closer to the batch plants I typically maintained. Now my actual commute consists of less than a block around the corner to dad's shop. I love it.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
