I disagree with the statement that paint will make the trash and dirt stick. We paint our plow bottoms every year after useing them and the next time the plow is out the paint is gone within 1 or 2 rounds, depending on the size of the field.

Then it's just as shiny as it was before we put it away.

Dry soil is the best way to get one to clean up though, if you don't have sand or gravel. We haven't used our 3 bottom in a while so they rusted a little through the paint. Gonna take it out this year to get it cleaned up again, then I'll paint them again.
