I'm thinking if I can pull this off I'd like to have it either Oct. 11 or 18 (Saturday) next year. My birthday is on the 12th so maybe that weekend. It'd probably be a little warmer out too, but if it's like this year it'll still be in the 70's.
I could probably go to the local butcher shop and get a box of brats and a box of burgurs, some buns and a couple cases of soda, water, whatever, and have a cook out. For sure wouldn't be able to fill everyone's tank and sure would hope no one would expect me to.
We'd have about 30 acres of ground to plow, give or take. Mostly corn, and some pumpkin ground. Hay we plow under after 1st crop and put corn in on it. My brother and I grow and sell pumpkins, so you guys could bring the wife and kids and they would have something to do as well.
We've got 3 plows, an Oliver 546 4-16, an Oliver 565 3-16, and what I think is a little wonder, 2 bottom trailer plow. Not sure how wide that one is. I would have the 1855 hooked to the 546, but would probably be willing to let others hook to the other 2 if they want to give it a try. I would probably mention it to Ron out at Tesch Bros. Imp. out in Seymour, see if he would want to bring out his big 2150 (I think that's what it is) with the 3 bottom spinner he's got on it.
How does that sound? I may just talk Dad into letting me do this next year and see how it turns out. Maybe it can even get turned into a small show... Would be kinda fun...

Today's Featured Article - A Question for Dads This recent topic from the Tractor Talk discussion board is being highlighted because it is an awesome display of the caliber of individuals that have made this site their own. The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
