I've always wanted to do a cummins conversion in an Oliver, but the Cummins is the biggest obstacle($$$$$$$$). Then after hearing about another guy who put one in out of a bus, it hit me:
About 1 mile away is WIR -Wisconsin International Raceway. They have bus races (figure 8's) every year in September for their big Eve of Destruction.
My brother is good friends with the guy who owns the track, as he married his wife's neice and has done a few business deals with them. Every year after the race, the busses just sit there. Not sure what ever happens to them but most of the guys that race have a different bus every year...
I'm thinking if I could get my hands on a Cummins 5.9 that may be in one of those busses, I could afford to swap out the needed parts to make it into a tractor engine instead of a truck engine.
Just a thought for now, I may have to mention it to my brother tomorrow when we're driving out to look at a little 550 for him...
