Well up here in NW ND our winters can be surprizingly very nice some years but then on occasions the mercury can drop as low as 40 below with the wind blowing strait outta he!!. And when it does you grab what ever you can but i usually start with a heavy shirt and a hooded sweatshirt, then a good heavy pair of new car hart coveralls,,bibs let in to much air,,then a good heavy hooded jacket and then i got a big ol hooded parker i save for those special occasions..LOL And for boots i got an old pair of WW2 air craft fleece lined boots that are maybe size 20 so i just ware them over my other boots that are big enough for my wool socks. then just go out there and keep moving but not so much that you start to sweat and you can survive for hours.
