Some of you may remember a post I made a couple months ago now titled "The Dummy broke it". I was bush hoggin the eadges of my CRP and came to area I knew had a dep ravine. I was giving the ravine a 2' breadth when the right front (my 560 has a wide front) dropped in a NEW ditch that was 2' deep and 2' wide, just wide and deep enough to make the tire dissappear. Before I could say "Oh $#!+", I snapped the tie rod, the wheel turned 90 degrees to the direction of travel, and I snapped the spindle (to the tune of $150 repair bill). Point is, given a narrow front tractor, I would have missed the new ditch with the front tires, and dropped the right REAR in that ditch, and probably rolled it into the ravine. Instead of breaking a spindle, I could have broke my neck! So...to reinforce Mongo, if you don't know the the ground, or can't see it for the grasses, GET OFF AND WALK IT FIRST!
