A while back I bought a 71 chevy pickup from a 91 yr old guy. He had repainted the white side panels including the tailgate and had masked off the letters with msking tape. He had a cattle rack put on right after(tailgate has to be lowered) and never took the tape off the tail gate letters. Tape had been on for possibly 6 YEARS! Stuck like concrete! I got a bottle of Goo Gone just to give it a shot. It worked, BUT I had to spray it on and let it soak for several days before taking off the tape. It took several trys to get it all but after 2 weeks I had it. I never thought that stuff would come off without a grinder! I have a 68 Olds 442 in the barn that has 18 yr old masking tape on it. I will give it a try on there when it warms up. Goo Gone will get it off especially if you let it soak a few hours or even days.
