Can't beat the cummins for reliability, 100K isn't even broken in yet. Aftermarket mods to get a bit more umph are easy to find. Due to the exceptional quality of the engine a failure is highly unlikely unless you plan on adding several hundred hp. My fathers 97 goes like a bat outa hell and still gets about 20mpg empty and only loses about 1 mpg with as much green firewood as i can pile in.
