You have to jack the cab up and pull rock shaft housing to get to it, a engine host will work. It do's not take much to hang that spool in the valve, scratch, dirt, brake material, etc..As for pump, Your charge pump under the floor board delivers oil to the radial pump. the priorty valve directs the oil to different location, steering first, then I think trans lube,etc.. but not positive sence I haven't read my service manual in a couple years. As for your r-pump, I don't think part of it would work. I think if it had that problem it would be shalling out pretty quick (no pressure). The best way to take the guess work out of it , is to get some gages and with the book check your pressuers. When you checked your screen did you have alot of black disk material in it. the service manual gives possible prpblems and the reasons in one of the sections. My book is a massey factory service manual, I think these books are more indepth than the IT book. I'll read up and get back with you.
