Many years ago, we had gone to visit my folks. Stayed until after dark, then went out to the car, and way off in the distance was the biggest flames we ever saw. So, curiosity got the better of our good judgement, and we went to see whats up! Drove 15 miles, finally got there, along with 300 other cars and people! Found a main cross-country gas line had exploded! After sitting out there, stuck in a giant traffic mess, my car began to heat up! Couldn't afford permanent anti-freeze, so i used alcohol, which was way cheaper, and would heat up and boil out way quicker! Finbally got out of there, and about half-way home, both bottom radiator hoses blew off, (1940 Ford V8)leaving us stranded! This was around 3am! Luckily, our garbage man came by and we got a ride home in that stinky old truck! After that, i joined the local Fire Dep't, so i could get in to the scene without taking my car or truck!
