I was told by a knowledgeable tractor guy in a parts store that with old 6-volt distributor tractors, NEVER use the newer type of plug wires (silicon or whatever that strange strandy stuff is inside). He said to use only the old-style stranded copper wire. I have a tractor now that has magneto ignition and apparently it was a little tough to start when it was running. I haven't tried starting it yet since its cold up here. It has the newer type of plug wire cable. Any comments on either situation that I described above? I'll probably switch to the copper wire for the mag too unless the newer stuff is OK. Thanks, Mike.
