I have had a Fuji 5100 for 5 or 6 years and it has a lot of features that makes it well worth the money. The telephoto lens is great for distance shots and it can be used in the auto mode for simple picture taking with great results. I sometimes use it when dismantling machines that won't be put together right away so it helps put things together. it uses double A batteries and I have two sets of rechargeables so batteries isn't a issue.
It looks a little intimidating but is a easy camera to operate and you can make some movies with it depending on how big a card you put in it. A 512MB card will give you14 minutes at320 pixels
