Who cares if we get much return on the zillions of tax dollars we blow on the ethanol feel good fantasy.
How much return do we get when our tax dollars pay farmers to NOT grow crops on CRP land? They get paid to grow nothing yet they won't let a guy hunt on the land, even though our tax dollars are paying for him to grow nothing but pheasants.
The fairy tale ethanol boondoggle is a good diversion of our tax dollars for a FEW farmers. But farmers that need cornto feed livestock are getting screwed. So the price of beef and milk goes way up just so a few farmers can pretend to be saving the planet by using 3 gallons of diesel to get4 gallons of ethanol, which the government subsidises so somebody will buy it.
