Thanks ILB for your imput, it was also positive and thats how it should be amongst adults. I'll leave you with this one about diodes. Guy worked for cable tv co. and crew was working around old abandoned barn. When he arrived, (he was the boss) the crew wouldn't go around barn. Said it was haunted and you could hear voices in there. And there wasn't another person around for miles. Jim, not being afraid of the boogie man, decided to investigate and sure enough he could hear voices and music. Upon closer look, found old pot bellied stove where music was coming from. Opened door to look and music went away. Conclusion; somehow the old rusty iron door hinges had become a detector (diode) and picked up a local radio station. This seems entirely possible to me, back in second world war some inventive soldier found (we called it comshall in the navy) a pair of 600 ohm head phones, took a piece of copper wire, a lead pencil and a Gillette blue blade (diode for a detector) and listened to the war from his foxhole. The plans for this radio are around here somewhere. Cheers...Fred
