We have put together a 86 F-250HD (8000 lb. gvw) with a Fisher plow. This truck is unstoppable especially with a load of sand in the back. Makes my 91 F-250 seem like a toy. The only problem we have is the 460 we put in keeps getting hot. I will say having a four way plow on the front of a modern, well heated vehicle makes the plowing go much quicker. Of course you cannot just decide to plow two feet of month old snow with it. Then you need a loader. You need to watch out for the front end parts on those flexi front ends on the Fords. Tie rods can cost $150 and ball joints are Big bucks. If it is a farm use only you could get away with loose front ends. But if you're going to use it on the road, and I think you will want to on stormy days, you may be better off with a newer or better truck to start. My Ideal would be a F-350 with a straight front end, Fisher plow equipped, single wheel, with a flatbed dump body full of sand or salter. And of course a killer stereo. Where are you in VT? I grew up around Bennington, and my brother ( who has a 86 F-150 to plow) is near Burlington raising alpacas in Bridport.

After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
