I have questions for anybody that knows what happened here. 1. How do depositors get their money back? (basically how long until the FDIC gives you back your money?
2. How do depositors prove how much they have in account(s). bank statements? What about fraud?
3. Have any you guys had money in an accout at a bank that failed? (what did you do)?
4. Is the FDIC a bankrupt entity like all other federal government agencys?
I am asking all of this because I have accounts at 1 bank and I dont want to be told that the bank ran off with MY money that I have on deposit and cant pay my bills. I am thinking about lowering my risk by opening another savings account at another bank. If I was an Indymac bank account holder I couldnt imagine what I would do if I lost all my cash, Assault? Beat the *hit out of a bank employee until I got my money. Go on the 6 -o-clock news and scream my head off.
