Say...10k for health ins provided by employer...30% tax rate...tax owed will be 3k but you get a 5k credit...2k in your pocket. Better still if you're in the 20% bracket or there abouts. In order for you to lose, the insurance would have be about 20k at tax rate of 30%...loss of 1k. Not many, if any fit that.
