Yup, you're right about the little Continental flatheads (side valve). The F400 number was cast (not stamped) into the side of the engine block (with more numbers following) on all of the sizes you mentioned. It also showed up as the 163 cubic inch model you mentioned as well as a 135 cubic inch version. To my knowledge, they were all the same (with some variations in bore, etc.). They were also used on the MH 101 and 102 Jrs, the Case V's (not VA's) and on the Oliver 44's (not too many of those around). Maybe someone had a grandiose idea of dropping one into a Farmall but that would have been quite a job with the clutch housings, etc.
