Sure will be interesting to see how this plays out. He is obviously starting his presidency in the worst possible situation, and while he has talked a good game, what will he do when he's actually in charge? If we must do another bailout, the infrastructure idea is probably as good as any, and better than most- it sure didn't seem to help much to just hand billions to the banks, who did God knows what with it. And Bush just gave the automakers $17 billion- probably about the only choice at this point. I would have preferred a Chapter 11 to get rid of legacy burden, but they can't sell cars now, so how are they going to as bankrupt companies? I just think this deal is going to get worse before it gets better.
