Go to the headings on the left side of these web pages, scroll down to 'Research & Info' and click on the '3-point Specs' to find out about the diff cat 3pt hitches.
Newer equipment has bolt on pins on the implement, break one or need a different size & you can just bolt on a new one, get something that fits.
Real old stuff, sounds like yours, has a big rod or shaft across & might be special bent for a plow or the like. Perhaps you can drill holes or what you need to do to get the bolt-on ones to work for you on the implement.
They make little sleeves so the cat 1 pins will fill out a cat 2 ball; but it sounds like your problem is more about the pins being too short.
An option would be to put on a quick hitch sleeve - these pin onto the cat 1 hitch and add an outer collar, making the pin area a little longer. However, you'd need to get a quick hitch for your tractor, & I'm spending a few 100 bucks of your money now.... ;)
