Sweet rig! Keep in mind, a C is just a B with a narrow front. Everything else is about the same.
Looks like you distributor is ok, just the distributor rotor is broken. Get down to an auto parts store and they can get you a new rotor. Might clean the points under the rotor, too, and I bet you'll have spark.
Looks like they've done SOME re-wiring, and it doesn't look like it needs much to run, electricity-wise. Charging system and lights need work, but that can come later.
For the gas tank, get you some Muriatic acid. Should have it at a hardware store in the paint OR swimming pool supplies section. Might hafta be a little older to buy it, though. Take your gas tank off, and mix up some 50/50 water/acid mix with nuts and bolts or chain and tumble. Acid will do ok by itself, the pieces in there will be good. Do that a couple times and WEAR GLOVES AND GOGGLES. Crappy clothes, too, 'cause it'll probably bleach or put holes in your threads. Rinse it well with water a few times and you'll be good.
Should get ya started. Congratulations on the new iron! Later, man.
