You are talking 2000's, cabs and attitudes. I'm talking 1960's,cabs and attitudes. People’s opinions then and now. What are you looking at for over $100,000? Lots of new on the lots from $11,000 and up. $50,000 will bring home a pretty decent tractor. People don't mind paying $50,000 for a pickup that after 10 years of salt is a write off. The $50,000 tractor after 10 years if not farmerized and busted. It's still worth a good % of the $50,000. Plus it should still have another 10-30 yrs of service left in it. If money and income causes you jealousy. Have a look at the $100,000+ list posted for Ontario income in 2008. So are you saying don't wear safety glasses as they are not going to stop anything worthwhile? As for shop rates, there are people that can't change the oil or filters they send it to the shop. Simple tractors or complex. I can't see why some people are so terrified of electricity and electronics. And have no idea on how check the basics beyond fuses. I remember people complaining. When generators were replaced with complicated and expensive alternators that contained electronics. People are just afraid of change and resist it. Try another 40 years and what’s new today will be considered the good old simple stuff.
