The post below about the Craigslist ad reminded me of this, told to me as the truth by a friend in NM. This woman was taking a bath when she heard this knocking on the door. Since she was bathing she did not go to the but then hear the crash of the door being knocked down. She held a towel around her with one hand and got a 44 magnum with the other. She found one guy going through her desk and told him to get out of her flaming house. Probably didn't say flaming. The man didn't like the looks of the 44 and left hastily, got in a pick up truck, and left hurridly. He then circled the truck back around the house, whereupon his accomplice in the house ran out and jumped in the back of the truck. The woman loosed a couple of rounds at the truck. The cops made the usual noises about how the woman shouldn't have shot at someone running away. Hopefully the cops have a truck with a bullet hole in it to look for.
