I use my tractor all year long. Mowing fields , snow plowing , lifting , dragging , etc.. The only time my oil level drops at all , is when it is time for an oil and filter change(about once a year). The oil would be crystal clear all year long. Once it starts to get a little dark looking , I know it is near oil change time. Shortly after the oil starts looking dark , the oil level starts to drop a little. Like I said , about one year. The oil filters I use have a safty feature in them. When it starts to get plugged , instead of starving the engine for oil , a spring inside the filter depresses , letting dirty oil bypass the parcially plugged element. Better to have a little dirty oil than no oil. This would explain why the oil in the crank case all of a sudden starts to turn color after about one year. High oil pressure on the main bearings causes oil consumption , which I didn't know until I had read it in one of the "Yesterday's Tractor" Post. This explains the drop in oil level. Here is my thery: Filter element gets plugged. Dirty Oil bypasses element. Oil pressure is higher because of not going through the element , causing consumption. How does this sound to you other readers? And NO! , your tractor should not use a quart per day. I've had tractors that ran very well and used a quart of oil per day of hard work , but fact is , they were getting tired.

As long as a pool was at the end of our destination she was easy to please unlike the other two who have a multitude of requirements to travel with mom and dad. Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
