I thought that the Harshfields had relinquished power a couple years ago. It amazes me that all these men accross the nation who are 45 years old and up who have all pulled in little local clubs all their lives aren't just bending over backwards to get one unified set of rules for the whole nation. Nothing worse than going to your own local little click of pullers week after week after week after week all summer long and pulling against the SSSSSSAAAAAAMMMMMMEEEEE tractors and contestants over and over. How BORING. I was at the NATPA rules meeting a couple years ago in INDY at the ADAMS MARK HOTEL when there was one big issue that was dividing the pullers accross the nation--I think it was the spacer plates and girdles; well the boys out west then complained about the tire sizes after they had the spacer plates the way they wanted. Or maybe it was just the opposite on the two issues. But man! who cares about pissy little details such as these if we could have one unified set of pullers and rules in a national club accross this country---There would literally be hundreds and possible close to thousands of pullers at a given pull. New stuff would be showing up all the time. No man in his right mind should be spending the $20,000+ it takes now to build one of these Division 4 pullers to meet the requirements of a tiny little local club. The tiny clubs will change rules right in the middle of a given pull to rule you out if your tough and winning, whereas the NATPA club had the right idea by locking in the rules for 3 years at a time.

12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
