Ron: A fair portion of our business is selling used parts to customers all over the United States. We do our best to represent the parts for what they are; this is where dealing with someone with equipment and industry experience is important. We work with many dismantlers and have found that the majority are honest and very helpful in problem resolution. We can usually determine if the parts are in good condition by questioning them. As for their honesty, experience is the only gauge. I would agree with Sammy and Rob about communicating your concerns with the seller prior to any alterations. Nobody likes surprises and although you were surprised and dissatisfied with the used axle, I'm sure that the seller was surprised and defensive if he was notified after the fact. But that does not justify not responding to your concern and attempting to come to some type of resolution. This is a situation where he apparently doesn't have plans of being in business for the long term or doesn't understand the power of "word of mouth" advertising. I would suggest making another reasonable attempt at contacting them and resolving the issue, documenting the outcome. This is a situation where credit cards are nice because the credit card companies will get involved with legitimate complaints and help resolve them. They have the ability to back out the sale amount and refund the consumer if the proper procedures are followed. If they have enough complaints on a business they will take away their privilege of taking credit cards as a form of payment; and in today's world that would effect their abiity to do business.

After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
